Africa's goods and services account for a mere 3 percent of global trade, with no sign of robust growth over the past few years. Moreover, just 12 percent of the continent's exports currently go to African markets. For a continent that is home to much of the world's most critical resources and huge internal demand, these percentages in no way reflect its potential to be a dominant player in both global and intra-Africa trade. African and other global experts discuss obstacles and opportunities in exploiting this potential.
